Today we visit Medellín.
Medellín
Today is going to be a hard day, we are leaving this idyllic area and we will spend the whole day travelling.
Capurganá
It's been raining all night and our plans to go to Sapzurro and La Miel walk are shaky. We are going to have breakfast at Noah's Ark, a very nice local restaurant, Colombian breakfast, the coastal cheese is very salty, the rest is very tasty.
The night has been incredible, sleeping with the sea in the background is a luxury. We left the big backpacks at the lodge and carried the necessary things for the next 2 days in the small ones. The accommodation is great and the girl who runs it is lovely.
In Cartagena the bus station is on the outskirts, 1 hour away, and there are no branches in the historic center.
Cartagena offers thousands of alternatives to spend the day, from cultural visits to impressive beaches such as Playa Blanca or the Rosario Islands, to taking a mud bath in the Totumo. We decided on the latter option, a mud volcano with medicinal properties.
Today the breakfast on the rooftop plays with the sun. It's 7 o'clock and everything points to it being hot.
After breakfast on the hotel rooftop we begin our tour of colorful, colonial Cartagena.
Cartagena de Indias
We get up at six, we have a tough day ahead of us. We have to go back to Santa Marta to pick up our backpacks and take a bus to our next destination Cartagena.
Palomino beach
Dawn at 6 o'clock, from the hammock you can see capybaras eating the fruit that falls from the trees.
Don Pedro campsite Tayrona National Park
Today we are going to the Tayrona National Nature Park. We leave the big backpacks in the apartment and take just enough for three days.
