We get up early, it's going to be a hot day, we want to do a route and visit some waterfalls.

We leave from the campsite with the car to the parking of the Cascata do Arado, one of the most famous in the Park. The path is steep but beautiful, the forest is very dense. We leave the car on the road and can enter by a track where there are several fountains but we prefer to do it on foot.

We walk one and a half kilometres and arrive at the Cascata do Arado. It is beautiful.

It's worth it, even though it's early and there are already quite a few people.

It consists of several heights where there are pools where you can swim. There is a group doing canyoning.

From the viewpoint we continue our way up the river. Our route takes us along the upper part of the river where there are more but less deep pools.

The landscape is beautiful and reminds us of La Pedriza. There comes a time when the road disappears and it is harder to find the milestones. It consists of going up the river to a hut but it is not easy, the undergrowth has grown and it is very hot.

Once we get to the cabin we eat some nuts. We go up to the Arrocela mountain range to see the valley on the other side, how wonderful, beautiful. We return by the top of the Arrocela to make our route circulate.

We met a very nice shepherd who was looking for his cows. On the way back to the river we had to take a bath. We got into some pools by ourselves.

Back to the viewpoint there are even more people than in the morning. We were lucky and with the heat we didn't see anyone on the road.

We take the car and visit the town of Ermida, a small village that we recommend you visit. We stop at a lookout point and a fellow countryman sells us a map of the area for 50 cents.

It is bigger than the one in Arado but being closer to the road there are more people. Another beautiful and essential place if you visit the area. It has several deeper pools and a wooded area to rest. How wonderful.

Back at the campsite we bought dinner at the supermarket and had a beer.
