We spent the day in Midtown, as always approaching the area by subway, and then we took to the streets.

Here's our route in detail. We started in the impressive Grand Central Terminal, is the Central Station, the building outside is not so prominent but inside is amazing, marble floors, chandeliers, turquoise vaulted ceiling with gold details. A curiosity, under the bridge that connects the lobby with Vanderbilt Hall is the Whispering Gallery, if you stand at one end and whisper to the wall, another person can hear it on the opposite side. You can also visit Campbell Apartment (a bar that was once the home of a tycoon) and the market.

We leave in direction Third Ave, to see the Chrysler building, this impressive skyscraper leaves you speechless, we don't stop remembering the scenes of the movie Ghostbusters again. Don't miss the art deco lobby, it's worth it.

We continue to the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue, an imposing building guarded by two lions, we enter but they are under construction so we can't see the Rose Reading Room.

Behind it is Bryant Park, a charming park where we enjoy live music.  We bought organic food at PAX  (arugula and brown rice salad) and enjoyed the park.

Going up Sixth Avenue, we arrive at Bank of America Tower. Between Sixth and Fifth Avenue we get lost in the Diamond District, with hundreds of gold, diamond and pearl shops. Jewish merchants are easily recognized by their appearance.

We arrive at St Patrick's Cathedral, a gothic building with an impressive rose window, also under construction. Nearby we see the famous Rockefeller Center, a giant hedge and flower bear replacing the Christmas tree and the ice rink.

Stop at Tiffanys and FAO, the toy store where Tom Hanks played the piano with his feet, great fun.

We arrive to Times Square and we are speechless again, it's getting dark and the waste of light on the screens leaves us hypnotized, we sit for a while on the red stairs.
