Leaving Bowling Green (the smallest and oldest public park in NY) we go through the southern part of the district, including Battery Park, passing by Fraunces Tavern Museum , Federal Hall (with a huge statue of George Washington), the New York Stock Exchange building, St Paul's Chapel (inside there is an exhibition in appreciation of the work done by the firemen when the twin towers fell), Trinity Church (with its cemetery)... It is curious that next to the imposing skyscrapers there are still brick buildings in European style.

Our guide is very friendly, although the explanation is in English he speaks some Spanish that he learned in Murcia. We give you $15 for 3 people.
We retrace our steps to see the One World Trade Center Site. The first thing you see is two ponds in the spaces previously occupied by the twin towers, in memory of those who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks, it is overwhelming, there is an atmosphere of respect and sadness, you can only hear the sound of water. In front of them stands the imposing One World Trade Center, it is not yet possible to climb to the viewpoint. Next to it is the Memorial Museum. The whole area is still under construction, there is a big mural in honor of the work done by the firemen.

On the way back to Manhattan we walk north of the Financial District to Tribeca. It used to be an industrial district and that gives it character, although now it is an exclusive neighborhood. We see the famous Tribeca Cinema, the fire station from the movie Ghostbusters, art galleries... we are lucky enough to see a photo shoot of a model with a bunch of huge balloons.

We have dinner soon and we go back to Union Pool, it has a theatre where a "reverend" offers a rock concert every Monday, very good. He's a peculiar guy and dazzles the audience who is totally devoted. It is a small place so it is advisable to arrive early to have room. Totally recommendable. In the bar they have an old photo booth and we take some pictures.
