We arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Our goal is to find a flight that will take us to the island of Borneo.
All the flights of Malaysia Airlines are full, and we have to change airport as the other low cost companies leave from KLIA 2. They are connected by bus that passes next to the Sepang International Circuit. In twenty minutes we are there. We take a flight to Kota Kinabalu, and in two and a half hours we arrive.
Kuala Lumpur
Once in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah province) we take a taxi and look for accommodation. After two failed attempts we end up at the Tropicana Guest House, a room with a window and a shared bathroom. It's a dwarf but we are very tired and don't want to look any further, at least breakfast is included in the price.
We go for a walk to stretch our legs and look for information to climb Mount Kinabalu. Everything is closed now.
Kota Kinabalu
Kota Kinabalu is a city of passage, it serves as a base to make excursions and take the first pulse to the island.
We had dinner at a local restaurant with chicken and a bottle of water. We meet a very nice Valencian woman, her Austrian boyfriend and another traveller and they tell us about their experience in the area.
We go to sleep soon, finally we are in Borneo.
