Relaxing morning on the beach. Today is a day of cleaning the beach.
Mabul beach
We walk around the village. It has a small mosque with a dome made of various materials. There are quite a few houses, it's quite a populated island for how small it is, in half an hour you surround it. The fishermen repair their nets and boats.
Mosque
We eat and the speedboat takes us back to Semporna. On the Scuba a very nice Filipino woman who works there accompanies us to the bus station.
The city looks different in the daytime but it is still not a very welcoming place. We buy the bus tickets for Kota Kinabalu, tonight we travel.
Boats
We have a beer at the Scuba and go back to the station. We eat an egg roti that looks like an omelet in an Indian stand. It's very good.
Mabul village
On the bus we meet a Spaniard, he's wearing a TAU T-shirt, just arrived from the Philippines. He tells us about some Colombian islands and the Panamanian beaches. We manage to sleep even though the air conditioning is on full blast.
Night bus tickets from Semporna to Kota Kinabalu: 130 MYR 2 pax.
