Indonesia day 12: Gili Trawangan diving.

Submitted by maria on Wed, 17/06/2015 - 20:16

We have breakfast in our accommodation with a view of the sea, all very rich. We have arranged for our diving baptism. First they give us a little talk to show us how the equipment works, signals to communicate underwater... We go to the pool, learn how to inflate and deflate the vest, remove the water from the goggles underwater and how to recover the respirator if it leaks. Then we get on a boat and approach a reef in Gili Meno. The reef is not in its best conditions, in Indonesia has been practiced for decades fishing with dynamite, but fortunately it recovers although very slowly, despite the area is spectacular, we had the opportunity to see turtles, moray eels, goldfish, starfish, urchins ... A joy.

Finally we do not continue with the open water and is that prices are not as cheap as we thought, actually around 300 euros, the same as in the Canary Islands, on another occasion.

We finished at 5 in the afternoon, so we snacked a bit and then had dinner.

Again we have dinner at the night market, we go to the same place as the night before. We also ordered some grilled fish, today it is a bit more expensive, also some corn cobs, delicious.
