We arrived in Beijing at seven in the morning, we haven't slept at all and we're a wreck. We take two taxis (there are five of us) and each taxi driver more or less understands the address.
Hutong
We stay at the Quian Men hostel, some of us appear at the beginning of the street and others almost at the door of the hostel (always a taxi meter, especially if you don't know how much the race is worth).
Our hostel is great, well located, clean and with a fantastic inner courtyard.
Hutong
Hutong
We rest a bit and start to take the pulse of the city.
We stay next to a hutong (traditional neighbourhood), it is a network of streets with low grey brick houses and common bathrooms distributed according to the number of inhabitants. It is fortunate that these neighborhoods are still preserved and we can learn about Chinese customs. They share a house and a shop.
Tiananmen Square
Tiananmen Square
Chinese calligraphy is an art that is being lost. We take advantage of the fact that we found an expert to ask him to write our names as a souvenir, we agree to pick them up the next day.
Tiananmen Square
First visit to the illuminated Tiananmen Square and at night already impresses its magnitude.
Accommodation: Quian Men hostel, is very well located and economical.
