Today we say goodbye to Tierra del Fuego and go to the Malvinas Argentinas International Airport to take a flight to Calafate. We will spend the next few days visiting Patagonia. We fly with Aerolineas Argentinas and without problems.
El Libertador Glacier Hostel
We arrive in Calafate and take a taxi to our hostel accommodation Glaciar el Libertador. It is very nice, it is made of wood and to access our room there is a common patio.
It is very hot, the change of temperature has been enormous.
We eat at La Tablita restaurant, Patagonian lamb, salad and wine. They are charming and let us see how they prepare it. They put the lambs on a cross around the fire in a huge, circular oven (like a big room) for hours. It is delicious.
Calafate
Calafate is one of the main destinations to approach the Glaciers National Park. It is strategically located between El Chalten and Torres del Paine in Chile.
Patagonian lamb
On the main road, souvenir shops, chocolate shops, restaurants, once you leave it, muddy streets and open pastures. However, it is worth taking a look.
We walk around the city until we reach a lake, have a beer. In our accommodation we booked for tomorrow an excursion to visit Perito Moreno.
